Cilegon, In an effort to improve the degree and quality of the community’s mental health, the Cilegon City Health Office (Dinkes) held an Orientation on Promotive and Preventive Mental Health Efforts for health workers at the Puskesmas.
The event, which took place in the Auditorium of the Cilegon City Health Office on Monday (25/11/2024), invited two experienced speakers, namely Maheka Karmanie Putri, SKM, MM from the Tangerang City Health Office and Juansyah Bachtiar from the Baros Health Center, Serang Regency.
Through this orientation activity, the city government is striving to enhance the capacity of healthcare workers in handling mental health programs while simultaneously eliminating stigma, discrimination, and human rights violations against individuals with mental disorders.
In addition, this orientation is also expected to encourage the active role of the community in supporting promotive and preventive efforts to achieve optimal mental health for individuals, families, and society.
According to the Cilegon Health Office, the community health center (Puskesmas) as a primary healthcare facility plays a strategic role in providing integrated, comprehensive, and sustainable mental health services.
“Mental health promotion is carried out to enhance protective factors at every level, from individuals and community groups to stakeholders,” explained Maheka Karmanie Putri.
