In order to support disabled painters throughout Indonesia, the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemensos RI) launched an E-Catalog.
This E-Catalog was launched as part of the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2024, at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Central Jakarta.
The platform, which is then referred to as the HDI E-Catalog, is a digital space that showcases and markets paintings by persons with disabilities from all over Indonesia.
The symbolic launch was held at TIM on December 1, 2024, by the Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono, and the ranks of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
“I would like to congratulate you.” “These three days are happy days for all of us in order to provide equal opportunities for all Indonesian citizens and finally there is something called equality in creation,” said Gus Ipul at the event.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Disability Association (PPDI), Norman Yulian, welcomed this initiative.
“Alhamdulillah today the Minister has given us a gift for Disability Day by showcasing works from major galleries that all participated and displayed outstanding disability products,” said Norman.
The HDI E-Catalog features 170 paintings curated by the Taman Ismail Marzuki team, encompassing various art styles such as realism, abstraction, and illustrations of anime characters. Portraits of Gus Ipul and the Minister of Social Affairs are also displayed among those works. These works come from artists with physical disabilities, hearing impairments, and mental disabilities.
Artist Whose Work is Featured at the 2024 HDI Commemoration

One of the artists whose work is displayed is Sadikin (58), an impressionist painter from Malang who is skilled at painting with his feet.
In his interview, Sadikin expressed his pride and joy.
“I am very proud and extremely happy that the Ministry of Social Affairs could showcase works in the e-catalog. And I am also delighted because the Ministry of Social Affairs can care for the community,” he said.
As a member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (AMFPA) since 1989, Sadikin has brought his works to the international stage, such as Switzerland, Germany, and mainland Asia. One of his paintings was even sold for Rp825 million.
