Jakarta – The Tangerang City Government has allocated IDR 30 billion for Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) at the elementary to junior high school levels. The budget has been established in the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) on the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of Tangerang City for the 2025 Fiscal Year, which has been agreed upon by the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).
It is known that the MBG program will target 315,448 students in 1,551 schools across the City of Tangerang, involving 1,551 MSMEs or 1 MSME for each school, and is expected to absorb 23,265 workers.
Next, the draft regional regulation will be officially submitted to the Banten Provincial Government for evaluation before being enacted as a Regional Regulation. (Perda).
“This budget is quite significant and will be used to support public health needs, while waiting for further policies from the central government,” said the Acting Mayor of Tangerang, Nurdin.
The total Regional Revenue planned in the 2025 APBD is Rp5.30 trillion, consisting of Original Regional Revenue (PAD) of Rp3.04 trillion and Transfer Revenue of Rp2.26 trillion.
Government Needs

This budget is allocated to address various government needs.
“This regional budget is also in line with the central government’s policies, such as the eradication of extreme poverty, reduction of stunting rates, inflation control, as well as increasing investment and ease of doing business,” he explained.
He also highlighted the importance of improving public services, including through the automation of Building Permit services. (PBG).
“By cutting the process from 30 days to 10 hours, we hope to expedite the PBG services that have reached more than 7,000 applications. This will also impact the increase in PBG fees,” he stated.
