Jakarta, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigative team searched the office of Bengkulu Governor Rohidin Mersyah on Wednesday (4/12/2024). The search was confirmed by KPK Spokesperson Tessa Mahardika Sugiarto.
“Yes, there is an ongoing search activity at the Bengkulu Governor’s office by investigators,” said Tessa via text message on Wednesday (4/12/2024).
Tessa has not disclosed further details regarding the search. However, the KPK had also previously conducted an examination of 10 civil servants at the Bengkulu Police Headquarters on Tuesday (3/12/2024). The examination is related to the corruption case involving Rohidin.
“The witness examination regarding the alleged corruption related to extortion and acceptance of gratuities within the Bengkulu Provincial Government,” said Tessa.
As many as 10 witnesses were present and were questioned by investigators about the gratification received by Rohidin Mersyah, which was used for campaign purposes during the regional elections, including for the “morning attack.” (politik uang).

“The witnesses were examined regarding the allegations of the Governor’s request to become a success team, the handing over of money for the operational and logistics of the gubernatorial candidacy, and the gratification of ‘morning attack’ money for the Governor’s victory,” Tessa explained.
Rohidin has been named a corruption suspect after being caught in a KPK sting operation some time ago. He is entangled in extortion and gratification within the Bengkulu Provincial Government.
Besides Rohidin Mersyah, KPK investigators also named two other suspects, namely the ADC to the Governor of Bengkulu, Epriansyah, and the Secretary of the Province of Bengkulu, Isnan Fajri.
