Jakarta – The Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, revealed that the plenary session of the House with the agenda of approving the Candidates for KPK Leadership (Capim) and Candidates for KPK Supervisory Board (Cadewas) is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Puan explained that in the meeting, the names of the candidates who have passed the fit and proper test in Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) will be announced. Subsequently, these names will be submitted to the government.
“We are waiting for the determination or inauguration after the Plenary Session, which we hope to hold on December 5,” said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday (12/4/2024).
According to Puan, the DPR will send a letter to President Prabowo Subianto regarding those names. The candidates who have passed consist of five KPK leadership candidates and five KPK supervisory board candidates.
Previously, Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) had approved five individuals to become the leaders of the KPK, consisting of one KPK Chairman and five members of the KPK Supervisory Board for the 2024-2029 term.
This approval is based on the results of the voting conducted by Commission III of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Thursday (21/11), after the candidates underwent a fit and proper test.
The five people approved to become the KPK leadership are Setyo Budiyanto as Chairman, and Fitroh Rohcahyanto, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, Johanis Tanak, and Agus Joko Pramono as Deputy Chairmen.
5 Supervisory Board Members
Meanwhile, the five individuals approved as KPK Supervisory Board Members for the 2024-2029 term are Benny Jozua Mamoto, Chisca Mirawati, Gusrizal, Sumpeno, and Wisnu Baroto.
This process is part of the efforts of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to ensure the continuity of leadership at the KPK in accordance with legal provisions.
Puan hopes that the selected candidates can be inaugurated soon after the official decision is announced in the upcoming Plenary Session.
