Jakarta – Secretary-General of the Golkar Party, Sarmuji, affirmed that his party is ready to shelter the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. (Jokowi). This was conveyed in response to the expulsion of Jokowi and his family by the PDIP.
Sarmuji said that Jokowi is already free and can choose to join any party.
“Mr. Jokowi is a free man. He is free to choose where he wants to dock. Let Mr. Jokowi enjoy his freedom,” said Sarmuji when contacted by merdeka.com, Thursday (5/12/2024).
However, if Jokowi is willing to join Golkar, Sarmuji emphasized that his party would welcome him with open arms. Golkar Party is ready to welcome Jokowi.
“It would be a different matter if after some reflection, Mr. Jokowi were to join Golkar Party, of course, we would welcome him with open arms,” said Sarmuji.
Previously, the Secretary-General (Sekjen) of the DPP PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, emphasized that the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Bobby Nasution are no longer part of PDIP.
“I reiterate that Mr. Jokowi and his family are no longer part of the PDI Perjuangan,” said Hasto at the PDIP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, Wednesday (4/12/2024).
Hasto explained that the dismissal of Jokowi and his family was due to their actions being deemed inconsistent with the party’s ideals, which have been fought for since the era of Sukarno or Bung Karno.
“That is what happened. And then we see how the ambition for power never seems to stop,” said Hasto.

Especially since Gibran’s rise as vice president through a process that violates the constitution and democracy, Hasto said, the status of all membership components related to PDIP has automatically been declared terminated.
