Jakarta KPU: Announcement of Pilkada Winners Likely to be Brought Forward to December 9, 2024

Jakarta – Commissioner of the General Election Commission (KPU) DKI Jakarta, Fahmi Zikrillah, stated that the announcement of the Jakarta 2024 Pilkada winner could be made earlier than the scheduled date of December 9.

“If by December 9 it is already finished, or maybe it could be finished by December 8.” “I think it could be earlier,” said Fahmi after attending the recapitulation and determination of the Jakarta Pilkada vote counting results at the Central Jakarta level in the Gambir area, Thursday, December 5, 2024.

The recapitulation of the city and regency-level vote counting in Jakarta has been completed today. The DKI Jakarta KPU will conduct the provincial-level counting starting December 7, 2024.

“Alhamdulillah all cities and regencies in the DKI Jakarta Province have completed the recapitulation process at the city and regency levels. Next, we plan to conduct the provincial-level recapitulation from December 7 to 9,” said Fahmi.

Fahmi said that the winner of the Jakarta Pilkada will be known after the provincial-level recapitulation. However, Fahmi mentioned that they are still looking for a venue for the provincial-level recapitulation.

“We will finalize the recap at the provincial level to obtain the complete figures. We will determine during the provincial recap how many votes each candidate pair received and what their percentages are,” he said.

The DKI Jakarta KPU, during an open plenary meeting to recapitulate the Permanent Voter List (DPT) at the DKI Jakarta Provincial level for the Jakarta Gubernatorial Election 2024 on Sunday (22/9), has determined that 8,214,007 individuals are included in the Jakarta Provincial DPT.

However, Fahmi mentioned that the voter turnout in the Jakarta 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) only reached 58 percent. There are three pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta running in the Jakarta 2024 Pilkada.

Namely, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) number 1, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana (Dharma-Kun) from independent number 2, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Pram-Doel) number 3.
