Solo – The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, commonly known as Jokowi, spoke out regarding the statement from PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto, who mentioned that Jokowi and his family’s membership status is no longer part of the PDI Perjuangan. Until now, the former Mayor of Solo admitted that he still keeps the party membership card (KTA) of the party with the bull’s head emblem.
“Well, that means it’s an individual party,” Jokowi replied when asked by the media about PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto’s comment regarding no longer being recognized as a PDIP cadre in Solo, Thursday (5/12/2024).
With the status of no longer being considered part of PDIP, the journalists then posed the question that he is currently no longer affiliated with any political party. However, Jokowi’s response remained the same as before, questioning the notion of an individual party.
“Yes, the party has become an individual entity, so that’s it,” he said.
Then, regarding the widely circulated news that after no longer being considered a cadre of the party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri and joining the Golkar Party, he again gave the same answer as before. “An individual party,” he said.
The Reason Jokowi Is No Longer Part of PDIP

Previously, the Secretary-General of the DPP PDI Perjuangan, Hasto Kritiyanto, answered questions regarding the membership status of the 7th President of Indonesia, Jokowi, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution. Hasto emphasized that the three of them are no longer part of the PDI Perjuangan.
“I reiterate that Mr. Jokowi and his family are no longer part of the PDI Perjuangan,” said Hasto at a press conference held at the PDIP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta on Wednesday (4/12/2024).
Furthermore, Hasto explained that Jokowi’s actions were considered not in line with the party’s ideals that have been fought for since the era of Sukarno or Bung Karno. “That is what happened. “And then we see how the ambition for power never seems to stop,” said Hasto.
The same goes for Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Bobby Nasution. Hasto said that when they were nominated by other political parties and also endorsed by Jokowi.
Especially since Gibran’s rise as vice president through a process that violates the constitution and democracy, said Hasto, the status of all membership components related to PDIP has automatically been declared terminated.
“Why?” Because PDI Perjuangan is driven by an ideal. And this is proven by the letter sent from the DPC of Surakarta City, where Mr. Gibran’s membership card originates, which informs that based on the political party law and party contributions, his membership automatically ends,” said Hasto Kristiyanto.
