According to Zulhas, national corn production is projected to reach 16.6 million tons by 2025. Meanwhile, domestic demand for corn for livestock feed is estimated to be only 13 million tons. With a significant surplus, Indonesia has the opportunity to export the excess corn production to international markets.
“We can export (livestock feed corn). So, according to the Food Coordinating Minister, since the surplus is quite large, we can export,” said Zulhas.

This optimism is one of the keys for the government to work hard to achieve the food self-sufficiency target set for 2027. According to him, this success is inseparable from the full support of President Prabowo Subianto, who has a strong commitment to food independence.
