Gang of Female Kidnappers in Antapani Bandung Arrested, Motive Revealed

Bandung – The police have admitted to capturing the suspected perpetrators of the kidnapping case that occurred in Antapani, Bandung City. There were four people arrested on Tuesday afternoon, December 10, 2024.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Sartono stated that those with the initials DAS (48), AS (35), T (51), and HA (51) have been designated as suspects.

“The Sat Reskrim Polrestabes Bandung team has identified four suspects within 1 x 24 hours,” said Budi in a statement broadcasted on the official Instagram account managed by Polrestabes Bandung, @polrestabesbandung, on Tuesday (10/12/2024).

Previously, the police reported that on Sunday, December 8, 2024, around 12:20 PM WIB, an alleged kidnapping occurred at Jl. Sukanegara No. 70 B, Antapani, Bandung City. The victim is a woman with the initials SA (43).

This case was reported by the complainant, who is the victim’s child with the initials MAU. (22). He saw his mother being forcibly taken by two men. This incident was also captured on CCTV. Budi explained that the four suspects had different roles. starting from planning the action, bringing the victim, to brandishing a weapon, which according to police claims is a toy weapon.

“The evidence in the form of a gray Daihatsu Xenia vehicle and a toy firearm has been secured.” The suspects were arrested on December 10, 2024, in various locations around Bandung,” he said.

The Motive Behind the Kidnapping is Revealed

Police’s initial suspicion is that the perpetrator committed this kidnapping out of a grudge. However, the police have not yet provided more detailed information regarding this grudge.

“For their actions, the suspects are charged under Article 328 of the Criminal Code regarding kidnapping, with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years, and Article 333 of the Criminal Code regarding deprivation of liberty, with a maximum prison sentence of 8 years.” Currently, the police have secured the perpetrators, evidence, and are conducting investigations on the victims, witnesses, and the suspects,” said Budi.
