Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto stated that many alumni of the Police Academy (Akpol) have become ministers in the Red and White Cabinet he leads. One of them is General (Ret.) Budi Gunawan, who serves as the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
“Whom I respect and am proud of, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, retired Police General Budi Gunawan,” said Prabowo while attending the opening of the 2024 National Police Regional Unit Commanders’ Assembly at the Police Academy (Akpol) in Semarang, Central Java Province, on Wednesday (12/11/2024).
“This is to greet the alumni of the Police Academy who happen to be in the cabinet that I lead. It turns out there are also many police academy alumni,” he continued.
Nevertheless, he admitted that he did not choose his cabinet members based on their backgrounds. In the selection process, Prabowo looks at whether the hearts of the cabinet members are ‘red and white’.
“But in selecting the members of the cabinet that I lead, what I look at is their red and white heart, not their background,” he said.
Besides Budi Gunawan, Prabowo greeted the cabinet members who are graduates of the Police Academy. Starting with the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, the Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Adrianto, the Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana, and the Deputy Minister of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Purwadi Ariyanto.
Mention AHY, the Best Graduate of Adhi Makayasa
Prabowo also greeted the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono. (AHY). Although not a graduate of the Police Academy, Prabowo mentioned that AHY was the best graduate of Adhi Makayasa.
“Brother AHY is an alumnus of the Military Academy in Tidar. So there is a similarity with Mr. Budi Gunawan.” AHY is also an Adhi Makayasa. Mr. Tito is also an Adhi Makayasa, right?”he said.”
