Jakarta – The General Chairman of PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, urged 14 party cadres participating in various district/city level regional elections in Central Java to commit to improving the welfare of the community.
In a meeting with PKB cadres who won the 2024 Pilkada with the theme “Empowering the People of Central Java Towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” Cak Imin mentioned that the poverty rate in Central Java is still high.
“Therefore, we entrust the mandate to implement the vision and mission concretely,” he said in Semarang, Sunday (15/12/2024), as quoted by Antara.
Including the candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Lutihfi-Taj Yasin, who are supported by this party. According to him, the role of political parties in determining candidates for regional leaders has been completed.
To the selected cadres, he said, they are required to deliver achievements that are directly felt by the community, namely welfare.
PKB Central Java succeeded in 21 regional elections at the provincial and district/city levels in 2024. Out of that number, 14 victories were achieved by cadres supported in the district/city level regional elections.
Meanwhile, in seven regional elections, PKB only acted as a supporting party without nominating its own candidates, including in the election for the Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Java.
Strengthen the Democratic System

The Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko Pemas), Muhaimin Iskandar, emphasized the importance of the youth’s role in strengthening Indonesia’s democratic system. He also reminisced about his struggles in his youth, when gatherings for open discussions were often dispersed.
That was conveyed while attending the opening ceremony of the Political Academy organized by the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) at the Muhammadiyah Central Da’wah Building, Jakarta, Thursday (5/12/2024).
“I used to be just like my friends, starting my career as an activist in the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII).” “Back then, it was very difficult to hold gatherings like this, they would definitely be dispersed,” said the man commonly known as Cak Imin, as quoted from the press release on Friday (6/12/2024).
However, he assured that the times have changed and the regime has transformed. Thus, all parties are free to hold activities, making the space for learning even more open.
