Gibran Wants the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A Glodok-Kota Project to Be Completed on Time

Jakarta Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, reviewed the progress of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Phase 2A Glodok-Kota project at the MRT Glodok Station on Wednesday (12/18/2024). This National Strategic Project (PSN) is considered to have shown significant progress.

Based on the statement from the Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of the Vice President’s Secretariat (BPMI Setwapres), Gibran considers the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A project to be essential for improving the connectivity and mobility of the people of Jakarta.

In addition, this is also considered in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment in Asta Cita to continue infrastructure development. Not only to reduce traffic congestion, this project is also expected to reduce carbon emissions in Jakarta.

“For that reason, the Vice President hopes that this construction can be completed on time,” said the BPMI Setwapres statement, received on Wednesday (12/18/2024).

Gibran Rakabuming Raka also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of all parties in ensuring the smooth progress of the MRT Jakarta project. He advised that the safety standards for the workers contributing to the success of this project should be continuously maintained.

For your information, the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A project will connect the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout Station (HI) to Kota over a distance of approximately 5.8 kilometers (km). This project consists of seven underground stations, namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota.

The completion of Jakarta MRT Phase 2A is divided into two segments, namely segment one Bundaran HI-Harmoni which is targeted to be completed in 2027. Then, the second segment Harmoni-Kota is targeted to be completed in 2029.
