Coordinating Minister Budi Gunawan Ensures Security Conditions on Christmas Eve 2024 Remain Safe

Jakarta Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan directly inspected the security readiness for Christmas Eve at various points throughout Indonesia.

This step aims to ensure that Christians can celebrate Christmas worship peacefully and safely.

“Alhamdulillah, from the results of the field inspection, the national situation is generally observed to be conducive.” The government will continue to ensure that the joint posts, which are already spread across various locations, work optimally, so that the public can perform their worship and activities comfortably,” said Budi during a visit to Gambir and several strategic points in Jabodetabek as quoted from the press release, Tuesday (24/12/2024).

He explained that the presence of several joint posts is a manifestation of synergy between the TNI, Polri, and various other related agencies. Budi Gunawan ensured that security efforts were carried out comprehensively, covering churches, crowded places, and transportation routes.

In the Christmas and New Year atmosphere, Budi reminded the public to remain vigilant and cautious, both while traveling and in crowded places.

“We invite the entire community to always maintain order and immediately report to the nearest post if assistance is needed,” he added.

Budi also assured that the government’s commitment to maintaining security and comfort for all citizens during the Christmas and New Year period would continue.

There is a Joint Leave in December 2024, Check the Dates and Days

December 2024 will be a meaningful month with one public holiday, which is on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, to celebrate Christmas. In addition, there are also joint leave days set for this month.

Through a Joint Decree between the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, it has been determined that there will be a total of 27 national holidays and joint leave days throughout 2024.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, explained that out of the 27 days, 17 are national holidays and 10 are joint leave days. “In 2024, the government has decided on 27 holidays,” he stated.

The establishment of national holidays and joint leave aims to provide guidance for the community, the economic sector, and the private sector in carrying out their activities. This also serves as a reference for ministries and government agencies in planning work programs in the future.
