Jakarta President Prabowo Subianto requested the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to accompany the work of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) and the Hajj Organizing Agency (BPH) so that the implementation of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage can proceed smoothly.
“The President has specifically requested the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to assist the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Hajj Organizing Committee so that this year’s Hajj can be conducted well and monitored properly,” said the Chairman of the Supervisory Team, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, during a meeting with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), in Nusantara II DPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/1/2025).
In addition, Prabowo also appreciated the performance of the working committee (Panja) for the 2025 hajj implementation, because they were able to reduce the cost of the 2025 hajj.
“The President appreciates the joint efforts of the special committee and the government in reducing the hajj costs, which should have increased due to the economic situation of the rupiah against the dollar, but instead decreased. This proves that the work of the DPR, especially the special committee, can be beneficial in evaluating this year’s hajj implementation,” he said.
In addition, Dasco also urged vigilance regarding the findings of the special committee (Pansus) on the 2024 hajj implementation to prevent them from occurring in the 2025 hajj implementation.
“We must be wary of the previous findings of the special committee that there are slots that have been manipulated so that those entitled to go can go without their rights being reduced,” added Dasco.
