JakartaPSSI Executive Committee member Arya Sinulingga responded to the anger of Shin Tae-yong’s son, Shin Jae-won, after his father was dismissed from the position of head coach of the Indonesian national team.
As is known, the national football federation previously officially announced the dismissal of Shin Tae-yong through a press conference in Central Jakarta on Monday (6/1/2025).
PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir hinted at the communication and tactical dynamics that have been felt since the Indonesia vs China match in the World Cup Qualifiers, which became a strong reason for them to end their collaboration with the tactician.
This decision is quite surprising, considering that the Indonesian football federation had just extended Shin Tae-yong’s contract in June 2024 after meeting the targets in the 2023 Asian Cup and the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.
In response to PSSI’s attitude, Shin Tae-yong’s son, Shin Jae-won, vented his anger on social media. He considered the federation’s move a huge mistake and believed that PSSI would regret ending the collaboration with his father.

“He (Shin Tae-yong) has brought Indonesia to this stage, and this is how you treat him?” Good job, PSSI, you will regret this decision,” wrote Shin Jae-won on his Instagram account shin_jaewon77 on Monday (6/1/2024) afternoon WIB.
“Let’s see how far you can go without him.” He (STY) has given everything to bring the Indonesian National Team this far. I have many stories about how PSSI has treated my father over the past five years, but I will still support him,” he said again in a different comment, as reported by Antara.
