Jakarta -As an independent and sovereign country, Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people. This stance is in line with Indonesia’s constitutional responsibility to create world peace.
The Indonesian Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono stated that the atrocities that have been ongoing for 460 days in Palestine are a serious concern for Indonesia. The conflict has caused tens of thousands of Palestinians to die, and millions more to be forced to flee.
“These numbers are not just statistics.” “Each number represents a human life,” he emphasized in his speech at the 2025 Ministerial Statement of Foreign Affairs (PPTM) event in Jakarta, Friday (10/1/2025).
Indonesia consistently provides humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people and supports the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). On the other hand, Indonesia also urges that international law be upheld without double standards.

“Indonesia welcomes the international legal ruling and urges Israel to be held accountable under international law for its actions,” added Foreign Minister Sugiono in his PPTM speech.
Indonesia, said Foreign Minister Sugiono, believes that the implementation of the two-state solution in accordance with international parameters is the best path to lasting peace. A ceasefire and recognition of the independence of the State of Palestine are important points that must be achieved.
“A free Palestinian state is the key to lasting peace,” said Foreign Minister Sugiono.
