Sukabumi – A woman domestic worker (ART) with the initials EH (34) in Sukabumi has to deal with the law after stealing gold jewelry and dollars from her employer, a doctor.The theft occurred in the Pesona Pangrango Housing Complex, Parungseah, Sukabumi Regency. The stolen gold jewelry was a family heirloom of great value to the victim, including the dowry.

Sukabumi City Police Chief, AKBP Rita Suwadi, revealed that the perpetrator had been working for approximately 3 years at the victim’s house. However, the theft was only uncovered a while ago after the victim lost a sum of dollars, gold jewelry, and noticed something unusual about the gold jewelry. “The victim initially did not suspect anything.” However, after losing dollar bills and checking her gold jewelry, the victim found that the gold jewelry in the cabinet was imitation. However, the original jewelry was a very valuable family heirloom,” said Rita at the Sukabumi City Police Station, Monday (13/1/2025).

He said that the perpetrator carried out his actions with quite a clever modus operandi. He took advantage of the opportunity when the victim was not at home to replace the original gold jewelry with imitation pieces. The original jewelry was then taken away by the perpetrator. “The perpetrator deliberately swapped the original jewelry with imitation pieces so that the victim did not immediately realize the loss.” This theft has occurred several times, and the estimated loss to the victim amounts to Rp750 million,” he explained.
