CHAIRMAN of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto emphasized that his team continues to seek evidence related to the alleged bribery case in the process of interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members. The suspect, who is also the Secretary-General of PDIP, Hasto Krisiyanto, is believed to be able to stand trial in court.
“I am confident that this case will be a case that must be resolved,” said Setyo in his statement in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday (16/1).
Setyo said that the case is currently receiving public attention. The KPK cannot let it stagnate, because the public needs clarity.
“The KPK is supervised by the public, there is a supervisory board, there is an inspectorate,” said Setyo.
The KPK updated the wanted poster for fugitive Harun Masiku. Four of his latest photos were published to the public.
The KPK seized Harun’s car, which had been parked for two years in an apartment in Jakarta. The vehicle was found in June 2024.
The KPK has developed the Harun case by naming PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto and PDIP cadre and lawyer Donny Tri Istiqomah as suspects in this case. Both are suspected of being involved in the bribery process to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.
However, Hasto was also charged with obstruction of investigation. He is suspected of using various methods to obstruct the investigation, one of which was asking Harun to destroy his phone and flee after the sting operation (OTT) was conducted.
Hasto has been prohibited from leaving the country by the KPK. Investigators also issued a travel ban for former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna H Laoly.
