West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi Threatened to be Killed

Liputan6.com, Bandung – Dedi Mulyadi received unpleasant comments on his personal Youtube account. The new Governor of West Java was threatened to be killed by someone in the comments column. Regarding this, the West Java Regional Police stated that they were ready to investigate the alleged death threat against Dedi Mulyadi.

Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Hendra Rochmawan, said that his party had monitored the threat and was ready to follow up if Dedi Mulyadi officially reported it.

“We are monitoring. If there is a request for monitoring, the cyber team is ready to assist him (Dedi Mulyadi) as the reporter,” said Hendra, Tuesday (4/22/2025).

Hendra said that the threat was known to have been made by an account that repeatedly wrote comments with a murderous tone against Dedi Mulyadi during live broadcasts.

“In fact, if we report it officially, we will conduct an investigation and inquiry against the perpetrators of the threats,” he said.

Hendra also appealed to the public, especially social media users, to be wiser in expressing opinions or comments in the digital space.

“An appeal to netizens to be wiser and behave well in responding to information because this is a public space,” he said.

According to him, any form of comment containing threats or insults can be subject to legal sanctions in accordance with applicable provisions.

“Comments of a threatening nature can be at risk of being reported or processed directly by law enforcement officers,” he said.
