In an effort to ensure the security and smoothness of the 2024 Regional Election, Polresta Banyuwangi is closely monitoring the distribution of 2024 Regional Election logistics.
Deputy Chief of Banyuwangi Police AKBP Dewa Putu Eka Darmawan said that the Banyuwangi Police have assigned personnel to escort and secure the distribution of logistics from the Banyuwangi KPU warehouse in Kabat District to the District Election Committee (PPK), which officially began on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
“The distribution process is carried out in stages from the KPU logistics warehouse to the PPK throughout the Banyuwangi region,” he said on Monday (25/11/2024). Deputy Chief of Banyuwangi Police AKBP Dewa Putu Eka Darmawan, Head of Operations of Banyuwangi Police Kompol Idham Khalid, Forkopimda along with the Chairman of KPU Banyuwangi and the Chairman of Bawaslu Banyuwangi, were present during the initial dispatch of logistics from the storage warehouse.
“We remind all ranks to be prepared for the security and escort of the Pilkada logistics distribution,” said AKBP Dewa Putu Eka D.
The logistics being distributed include ballot boxes, ballots, and various other election equipment.
Head of Operations at Banyuwangi Police, Kompol Idham Khalid, emphasized the importance of strict security at every stage of the Pilkada to prevent potential disturbances.
“We are conducting this escort to ensure that all election logistics arrive at their destination safely and on time,” he emphasized.
Kompol Idham Khalid added that his team has stationed personnel both at the KPU logistics warehouse as the departure point and at the targeted sub-districts.
“We have stationed personnel in every distribution vehicle and storage location at the sub-district level,” he said.
In addition, he said, the KPU and Bawaslu also conduct oversight to ensure transparency and integrity in the logistics distribution process. This is because the logistics distribution is part of the preparations for the 2024 Pilkada, which will be held simultaneously on November 27.
“With strict escort and supervision, it is hoped that the democratic process in Banyuwangi Regency can proceed safely, orderly, and successfully,” concluded Kompol Idham Khalid.
