Chairperson of the DPP PDIP Puan Maharani, along with the chairperson of the PDIP who is also her mother, Megawati Soekarnoputri, will cast their votes for the Jakarta 2024 Regional Election at the Kebagusan polling station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/11/2024). Puan hopes that the 2024 regional elections held in 37 provinces and 508 districts/cities will be conducted honestly and fairly, safely, and smoothly.
According to her, the regional elections are one form of democracy in Indonesia where the people will determine the candidates for their regional leaders.
“For the KPU and Bawaslu to be able to conduct the regional elections well. Ensure that all processes of the regional elections, which will be held simultaneously in 545 regions, run smoothly and safely.” The security forces must also be able to ensure stability in every region conducting the local elections,” said Puan to reporters on Tuesday (26/11/2024).
Puan advised all parties to uphold political ethics in the regional elections. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining neutrality among the authorities during the 2024 regional elections.
“The public has high hopes that the regional elections will be conducted fairly. “We hope that the interested parties maintain their commitment to ensure that the 2024 regional elections run smoothly,” said Puan Maharani.
