Visitors of Grand Indonesia Mall: No Flames, Just Smoke

Grand Indonesia Mall caught fire on Wednesday (27/11/2024) afternoon. It is suspected that the fire originated from one of the restaurants inside the mall.

Panic-stricken mall visitors immediately evacuated outside. One of them was Ratu, a mall visitor who was about to have lunch with her family. Unexpectedly, there was a fire incident that occurred.
“I was going to have lunch, but I heard there was a fire,” said Ratu in the Grand Indonesia Mall area, Wednesday (27/11/2024).
According to her, there were no visible flames, but there was smoke during the incident at the elite mall in Central Jakarta.

“There was no fire,” he explained.

With his family, he decided to leave the location to find another place for lunch.

“Now we want to find another place to eat first,” he concluded.

Deploy 13 Fire Trucks


Regarding this incident, the Head of the Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) of DKI Jakarta, Satriadi Gunawan, stated that 13 fire trucks and 52 personnel were deployed to the location. Until now, the extinguishing process is still ongoing.

“Deployment of 13 fire engine units. Thick smoke situation,” he said.
