Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto announced a salary increase for teachers with civil servant status (ASN) and non-ASN starting in 2025. ASN teachers will receive a welfare increase equivalent to one basic salary, while non-ASN teachers will receive a professional allowance increase of Rp2 million.
“We have increased the budget to improve the welfare of teachers who are ASN and PPPK as well as non-ASN teachers,” said Prabowo while attending the Peak Commemoration of National Teacher’s Day at Velodrome Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Thursday (28/11/2024).
“ASN teachers receive an additional welfare benefit equivalent to one month’s basic salary. Non-ASN teachers have their professional allowance increased to Rp2 million,” he added.
He stated that the welfare budget for ASN and non-ASN teachers will increase to Rp81.6 trillion in 2025. In addition to salaries, Prabowo is also implementing the teacher profession program (PPG) to improve the welfare and quality of Indonesian teachers.
“Still related to our commitment as your government to improve the welfare and quality of teachers, in 2025, PPG will be implemented for 806,486 ASN and non-ASN teachers who have met the D4 and S1 educational qualifications,” explained Prabowo.
Non-ASN Teacher Salaries Increase by Rp2 Million
Previously, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul, explained that non-ASN teachers who receive a salary increase of Rp2 million are those who have certification. The additional salary of Rp2 million is outside of the salary from their original school.
“So, he already has a salary at his original school, and that salary varies according to the school’s capability. But with his certification, he will receive the Rp 2 million certification allowance,” explained Mu’ti at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, Tuesday (26/11/2024).
He assured that this salary increase applies to both private and public school teachers. As for the nominal salary increase for ASN teachers, it depends on the basic salary they receive.
“So, for ASN teachers, it’s just the basic salary. According to their basic salary. One time the basic salary. The basic salary, of course, varies according to rank and so on,” said Mu’ti.
