Response to the Quick Count Results of the Central Java Gubernatorial Election, Hendrar Prihadi: I Apologize, the Results Are Not Good

The quick count results of the 2024 Central Java Gubernatorial Election (Pilgub) show that the pair endorsed by the PDI Perjuangan, Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi, lost significantly to Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin. From several survey agencies, Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin received 58% of the votes, while Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi received 42%.

Seeing those results, Hendrar Prihadi apologized to his supporters and admitted he was struck by the percentage results released by several survey agencies from the quick count of the 2024 Central Java Gubernatorial Election. Nevertheless, he took this contest as a lesson.

“I apologize to the party friends and volunteers who have supported Andika-Hendi, the results have not been good so far,” he said.
“I am proud that for almost 62 days of campaigning through ups and downs, everyone must be affected by this result, but God willing, there are optimistic things we can work on,” Hendi added.

Initially, he was supposed to meet with his partner Andika Perkasa after the voting. However, the disappointing quick count results caused the meeting to be canceled.

“As soon as we saw that the results were not promising, we decided not to meet this afternoon.” He is also preparing to return to Jakarta to prepare for his child’s wedding,” said Hendi.

“Returning to work to resume the activities we left behind yesterday.” “We’re really at a loss, let’s evaluate first,” he explained.

Ready to Accept the Results

Andika Perkasa stated that he is ready to accept any outcome in the 2024 Central Java gubernatorial election contest. He also admitted that he does not mind the people of Central Java choosing whichever candidate they prefer.

“Whether we are optimistic or not is determined by the people of Central Java.” “We have handed it over from the beginning. We must be ready for all the results,” said Andika Perkasa while at the Lempongsari Semarang polling station on Wednesday (27/11).

Andika and Hendi ensured they would continue to monitor from their respective places. “Let the officers work, we will monitor from places that do not interfere,” he said.

He hopes to receive the trust of the citizens along with his partner, Hendrar Prihadi. However, despite that, he did not set a percentage target.

“The exact percentage doesn’t matter. Let the people decide their choice,” he concluded.
