Ahead of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) celebrations, the price of chicken meat at the Jatinegara Market in East Jakarta is expected to experience a significant increase.
This was revealed by one of the chicken vendors, Hasan, who explained that the price increase was caused by the pricing policy from the supplier.
He explained that the price of chicken cuts is currently around Rp33,000 per kilogram.
“The price of chicken cuts is now around Rp33,000 per kilogram,” Hasan explained.
Hasan also added that although the price of chicken has increased, the price is still considered reasonable.
“Right now, the price hasn’t increased significantly. But for the future, it’s still uncertain when the price of chicken will rise drastically,” he stated.
Will Rise Ahead of Nataru
However, Hasan predicts that chicken meat prices will definitely rise ahead of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) celebrations because demand will surely increase, so prices are expected to continue to soar.
“Usually, chicken prices definitely rise during Christmas and New Year,” he concluded.
The increase in chicken meat prices leading up to Christmas and New Year is influenced by several factors, including the high demand during the major holiday season. Chicken consumption rises sharply before the celebrations, resulting in a price increase in the market.
