Support President Prabowo’s Vision, Minister Nusron Wants to Optimize the Role of the Land Bank Agency

The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Nusron Wahid, wants to optimize the role of the Land Bank Agency in supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita. This was stated during his meeting with the media at the Prona Hall of the ATR/BPN Ministry, Jakarta, on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

“Clearly, the Land Bank will be used for at least four purposes. First, to support food self-sufficiency, second, for energy self-sufficiency, third, to support the downstreaming program, and fourth, to support housing for low-income communities,” said Nusron Wahid during a light discussion session with the media.

The Land Bank Agency itself was officially formed in 2021 through the issuance of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 113 of 2021 concerning the Structure and Administration of the Land Bank. Since it became effective in 2022, Minister Nusron revealed that until now, the Land Bank Agency has managed around 27 thousand hectares of land. “In my opinion, it is very small for a land bank because the needs are very high,” he said.

The initial purpose of establishing the Land Bank Agency is to ensure the availability of land for public interest, social needs, development, land consolidation, economic equity, and Agrarian Reform. “This land bank is to utilize the land, what will be done with the former HGU (Business Use Rights) handed over to the Land Bank,” said Minister Nusron.

“This is also a challenge for the Land Bank to be able to innovate, the creativity of the Land Bank, what are its ideas, the more ideas there are, and the more the economy improves, the more we empower it. If not, then no,” emphasized the Minister of ATR/BPN.

For your information, this media meeting was attended by around 80 media personnel. The lively discussion session was moderated by the Head of the Public Relations Bureau, Harison Mocodompis. Also present on this occasion were the Deputy Minister of ATR/Deputy Head of BPN, Ossy Dermawan, as well as the Senior High and Primary Officials of the ATR/BPN Ministry.
