Pekanbaru – After being intensively interrogated for hours at the Pekanbaru Police Headquarters, the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, Risnandar Mahiwa, was finally taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators to Jakarta.
The Director of Community Organizations at the Ministry of Home Affairs was flown out via the VIP departure terminal at Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport in Pekanbaru. With him, the Regional Secretary Indra Pomi Nasution was taken.
Besides Indra Pomi, three women suspected to be officials in the Pekanbaru City Government and several other men were also taken. In total, together with Risnandar Mahiwa, there were 8 people escorted by investigators to the plane.
There was no comment from Risnandar Mahiwa regarding his arrest. He was wearing a black mask and his eyes looked swollen from the camera’s flash.
Risnandar was caught in a KPK sting operation on the evening of Monday, December 2, 2024, after being picked up by investigators at his official residence on Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani.
Before Risnandar, KPK investigators first arrested Indra Pomi Nasution at the Pekanbaru Tenayan City Government Office Complex.
They were all taken to the Pekanbaru Police Headquarters for intensive questioning. The Polresta gate was immediately closed tightly, and no media personnel were allowed to enter.
Risnandar finished undergoing an examination at the KPK on Tuesday, around 1:15 PM WIB. Three black cars exited the Polresta gate, escorted by two patrol cars and police motorcycles.
