Obscene Video Trial, MKD Decides PDIP Faction DPR Member Haryanto Violated Code of Ethics

Jakarta – The Honorary Council of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MKD) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has decided that DPR member from the PDIP faction, Haryanto, violated the code of ethics and has been given a written sanction. This is related to the case of alleged immoral conduct in the form of a sex video call. (VCS).

“The decision of the MKD meeting has concluded and adjudicated as follows, based on legal and ethical considerations, the MKD has decided that the honorable respondent Haryanto SH MM MSI, member number A193 from the PDIP faction, has been proven to violate the code of ethics and has been given a written reprimand,” said the Chairman of the DPR RI MKD, Nazaruddin Dek Gam.

Nazaruddin explained that this decision was made during a closed deliberative meeting of the MKD on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, attended by the leaders and members of the MKD.

“What was read in the MKD session on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, resulted in a final and binding decision from the date it was read,” said Nazaruddin.

In the trial, several members of the MKD grilled Haryanto and were convinced that the sex video call was of him. However, repeatedly Haryanto still did not admit that he was not the person in the video.

The Trial Was Held Openly

Previously, the Honorary Council of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (MKD DPR RI) held a hearing against PDI-Perjuangan faction member, Haryanto, regarding a case of alleged immoral conduct involving a sex video call. (VCS).

The trial was led by the Chairman of the MKD DPR RI, Nazaruddin Dek Gam, in the MKD DPR RI room, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/12/2024).

“This trial is being conducted openly,” said Dek Gam while leading the trial.

Dek Gam stated that the MKD has the authority to investigate allegations of ethical violations by members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).

“With Haji Haryanto SH MM MSI member number A193 from the PDIP faction, Tuesday, December 3, 2024,” said Dek Gam.

On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of the PDIP Faction MKD TB Hasanuddin objected to holding the trial in public because the case is sensitive and related to morality.

“Maybe it would be better to keep it closed,” said Hasanuddin.

Meanwhile, MKD member Habiburokhman requested that the trial be held in public. However, the screening of pornographic content does not need to be broadcast.

“But the trial should remain open, so that the public can follow the case,” said Habiburokhman.

In line with that, MKD DPR member Rano Alfath stated that the VCS video and images are not for public consumption. However, the trial can be held in public without any issues.

Finally, the media crew was asked to step out briefly while the VCS evidence video was played. After a while, the media crew was allowed to re-enter.
