Jakarta, – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto summoned several ministers and other state officials to his office on Tuesday, December 4, 2024.
On-site observation, the ministers present included Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Minister of Manpower Yassierli.
Sri Mulyani was seen attending accompanied by the Director General of Taxes, Suryo Utomo. Also present were the Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlements, Fahri Hamzah.
They arrived at 3:00 PM WIB and left around 4:00 PM WIB. However, they were reluctant to detail the contents of the meeting discussed with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs.
“Later, the coordinating minister will be the one to convey it,” said Sri Mulyani.
“Next week, it will be officially announced by the coordinating minister for the economy and the minister of finance,” added Fahri Hamzah.
Meanwhile, Yassierli said that various incentives to be provided by the government were discussed in the limited coordination meeting. The discussion also included the 12% VAT policy, which is planned to be implemented in January 2025.
“If it’s with me, yes, it’s related to employment. Yes, one of them is (about the 12% VAT). But not yet, it will be detailed later, by the Coordinating Minister,” said Yassierli.

Regarding the discussion on the 12% VAT, Yassierli revealed that it is still around simulations and various calculations. He could not yet confirm from the meeting whether there would be a decision to postpone the increase or not.
“Just wait for it, this is still being simulated, still being calculated.” That (regarding the VAT decision) ask Mr. Menko and Mrs. Ani, not me,” said Yassierli.
