Police Shooting Police Case in Solok Selatan, Victim’s Family Asks Bareskrim to Take Over the Case

Jakarta – The family of the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Solok Selatan Police, AKP Ulil Riyanto Anshari, who was shot by his own colleague, the Head of Operations AKP Dadang Iskandar, in Solok Selatan, has never been informed about the progress of the case.

Deny Adi Pratama, the legal representative of the late AKP Ulil’s family, revealed that the family only received information from the media.

“Since the shooting incident, the family has not been officially informed about the ongoing legal process,” said Deny, Tuesday, (10/12/2024).

In addition, the family was not informed about the decision of the Bhayangkara Corps ethics council regarding Dadang, which was imposed with Dismissal Not With Honor. (PTDH).

“The victim’s family only received information from the circulating news media,” added Deny.

Deny revealed that he is currently studying this case before coordinating with the Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police and the West Sumatra Regional Police.

“I will coordinate with the Criminal Investigation Agency or the West Sumatra Police regarding this incident,” he stated.

Deny hopes that the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) can take over this case, considering the alleged involvement of illegal mining in the West Sumatra region.

“We are concerned that the legal process is not being conducted properly, and we also want to prevent any intervention from any party,” he stated firmly.

Shot After Arresting Illegal Mining Suspect

The West Sumatra Police Chief (Sumbar), Inspector General Suharyono, had previously revealed that AKP Dadang fired a shot after arresting a suspect in an illegal C excavation mining case.

“In a relatively short period, this individual suspect also surrendered to the police station with certain efforts, and until now, we are intensively investigating what his motive was,” he explained.

Irjen Suharyono emphasized that he will impose strict criminal and ethical sanctions on AKP Dadang, including PTDH.

“This action must be firm against anyone who obstructs this very noble law enforcement,” he emphasized.

This case is still being investigated by the police. Clarity regarding the motive behind the shooting and a transparent legal process are expected to materialize in order to provide justice for the victim’s family and ensure public trust in law enforcement.
