Gibran Reviews Free Nutritious Meal Trial at MBS Ki Bagus Hadikusumo Bogor Islamic Boarding School

Jakarta – The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, directly inspected the implementation of the free nutritious meal trial (MBG) at the Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Ki Bagus Hadikusumo, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (11/12/2024).

The trial activities took place in two schools, namely MBS Campus 1 and MBS Campus 2. Both are located separately on Jalan Mad Nur, Desa Jampang, Kemang, Bogor, West Java.

Based on the statement from the Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of the Vice President’s Secretariat (BPMI Setwapres), Gibran was accompanied by the Acting (Pj) Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, and the Acting Regent of Bogor, Bachril Bakri.

“On this occasion, the menu served to the students consisted of white rice, stir-fried mustard greens and carrots, stewed chicken, fantasy tofu, and bananas,” according to the written statement from BPMI Setwapres.

Gibran’s visit to Ponpes MBS marks his first visit to a religious-based school. This visit is said to mark the commitment of President Prabowo’s and Gibran’s administration to achieve community welfare through the Asta Cita vision.

MBS Ki Bagus Hadikusumo, as one of the modern Islamic boarding schools, combines religious education and science, with a total of 495 students at the junior high and senior high school levels for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Gibran said that this Islamic boarding school serves as a concrete example of how government programs can reach various layers of society, including religious educational institutions.

Gibran requested that the students be given special attention because they live in dormitories.

“Maybe in the future there will be a little incentive, Sir, for the dormitories.” (pesantren). The important thing is that their nutritional needs are met. And, because the children live in the dormitory here, they will need special attention,” said Gibran.
