BBCA Intensively Educates Customers about Banking Fraud Modus Operandi

Jakarta PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) reaffirms its commitment to educating the public to remain vigilant against various fraud schemes. Together with Indro Warkop and the lineup of comedians “Agak Laen,” which includes Bene Dion, Boris Bokir, Indra Jegel, and Oki Rengga, BCA launched the educational campaign “Tell others to Don’t Know? Say No! when encountering a scam that is a bit different. This video can be watched by the general public through the Solusi BCA YouTube channel starting December 6, 2024.

Data from Avast shows that around 90% of threats to digital service users are social engineering crime methods. As technology advances, scam methods continue to evolve in increasingly ‘different’ ways, such as AI-based voice scams, fake online raffles, fake QRIS, fake concert tickets, and fake bills.

Therefore, BCA once again urges customers and the public to continue applying the principle ‘If you don’t know the origin, just say no!’ The Origin, Just Say No!’ if you encounter ‘somewhat different’ scam methods.

“BCA realizes that the increasingly massive cases of fraud cannot be fought individually. Collective efforts are needed to combat the various evolving modes of fraud.” Therefore, we never tire of urging and educating our customers to be cautious and always protect their personal data,” said BCA Director Santoso, quoted on Friday (13/12/2024).

“If you encounter ‘somewhat different’ scam tactics, our stance should be the same, which is ‘Don’t Know? Say No! Then, don’t forget to share it with others, so that we can all avoid these scams. By collaborating with Indro Warkop and the comedy group ‘Agak Laen’, we hope this latest educational video not only entertains but is also easily understood by all customers and the public,” he continued.

Avoiding Fraud Modus

Video “Scams Are Getting Weirder, If You Don’t Know?” “Give No!” also invites the public to share the message “Don’t Know?” “Say No!” to those closest to you, such as family, friends, and colleagues. BCA hopes that more people will be protected and avoid increasingly ‘different’ scams.

The principle “Don’t Know? Give No!” “Say No!” emphasizes the importance of always thinking twice before acting. Customers are urged not to immediately trust and provide personal information to unknown parties, whether through phone, email, or social media. Equally important, BCA also encourages customers and the public to stay updated on the latest scam methods from trusted sources, one of which is the link bca.id/awasmodus.

As part of BCA’s commitment to customer security education, BCA has previously launched the video series “Nurut Apa Kata Mama” as an innovative step to convey educational messages.
