Gunungkidul – The Indonesian Fishermen’s Association (HNSI) in collaboration with the Vocational Faculty of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) held a trial of free nutritious meals on Thursday (12/12/2024) at Nglindur State Elementary School, Gunungkidul. This activity is the first of its kind in Gunungkidul Regency and serves as the initial step towards the implementation of the national free nutritious meal program in 2025.
The Chairman of the DPD HNSI Province of DIY, KPH Wironegoro, explained that this program is designed to support President Prabowo Subianto’s initiative to improve the nutritional intake of the community. He emphasized the importance of immediate implementation to support the success of the program.
“In this trial, we prepared a menu based on fish caught from the southern sea.” “The potential for fisheries in Kapanewon Girisubo is very large, and fish have a high protein content to support the growth and development of children,” said KPH Wironegoro.
In this trial, the menu served includes white rice, canned skipjack tuna, fried tofu, fried vermicelli, vegetable stir-fried noodles, chili sauce, and golden bananas. The selection of these food ingredients was carried out through a study by the Vocational Faculty of UNY to ensure optimal nutritional value.
KPH Wironegoro also expressed his appreciation to UNY and the elected Regent of Gunungkidul, Endah Subekti Kuntariningsih, for their support in the success of this program.

“This free nutritious meal program is strongly supported by the DIY local government to eliminate the stigma of Indonesia as a country with low IQ levels.” With continuous nutritional monitoring over five years, I am confident there will be a significant increase in the IQ of the Indonesian people,” he added.
