Jakarta – Prosecutors have charged three judges from the Surabaya District Court with corruption for accepting gifts or promises to acquit Ronald Tannur from a case of assault that resulted in the death of his ex-girlfriend.
The three judges are Erintua Damanik as the Chief Judge, and Mangapul and Heru Hanindyo as associate judges.
“The defendants Erintuah Damanik, Heru Hanindyo, and Mangapul, who examined and decided the criminal case in the name of Gregorius Ronald Tannur, based on the Decree of the Deputy Chief Justice of the Surabaya Class IA Special District Court Number 454/Pid.B/2024/PN Sby dated March 5, 2024, who received gifts or promises, in the form of cash amounting to Rp1,000,000,000 and SGD308,000,” said the Prosecutor in the indictment, Wednesday (12/24/2024).
The money was received from Ronald Tannur’s mother and his legal representatives, Meirizka Widjaja Tannur and Lisa Racmat. The giving of money to the three judges was done separately and in stages.
For Erintuah, money was given in stages amounting to SGD48,000, SGD38,000, and SGD30,000 Singapore dollars. Meanwhile, for the two associate judges, Mangapul received SGD36,000 Singapore dollars, and Heru Hanindyo SGD36,000 Singapore dollars.
“Whereas it is known or reasonably suspected that the gift or promise was given to influence the verdict of the case submitted to him for adjudication, namely the Defendants Erintuah Damanik, Heru Hanindyo, and Mangaul, who knew that the money given by Lisa Rachmat was to render a verdict of acquittal (vrijspraak) for Gregorius Ronald Tannur from all charges brought by the public prosecutor,” said the Prosecutor.

The prosecutor revealed that Lisa had met with former Supreme Court (MA) official Zarof Ricar to request a judge who could manipulate Tannur’s trial. Lisa told Zarof that she needed a judge who could acquit the child of the DPR member.
“Lisa Rachmat asked Zarof Ricar for help in finding a judge at the Surabaya District Court who would be willing to issue a dismissal (onslag van recht vervolging) in the case of the child of a member of the DPR,” explained the Prosecutor.
