LSI Denny JA: The Public Supports 7 of Prabowo’s Programs, but Rejects Regional Elections Chosen by the Regional Parliament

Jakarta, the Denny JA Circle of Indonesian Survey (LSI Denny JA) considers the first 100 days of Prabowo Subianto’s administration to be very impressive to the public.

His performance at international forums, his public speeches on various issues, and his warnings to corruptors convinced his main supporters that Prabowo is not only a potential strong leader for advancing the economy.

“The public sentiment is very positive.” However, there is one negative sentiment related to the regional election system,” said LSI founder Denny JA, Denny Januar Ali, in the presentation of the 2024 year-end research report, Thursday (12/26/2024).

According to him, in his first year as a leader, Prabowo launched many major programs targeting strategic sectors. LSI Denny JA also analyzes public opinion using a technology-based approach. This research limits itself to eight issues in the fields of health, agriculture, education, economy, welfare, labor, social, and politics.

LSI Denny JA found seven programs that were supported by positive sentiment. Meanwhile, one program faced significant challenges from the public.

First, the program to improve the health of pregnant and breastfeeding mothers through nutritional assistance, with a conversation frequency of 2,505, achieved a positive sentiment of 53.7 percent and a negative sentiment of 46.3 percent.

“This program is appreciated because it targets vulnerable groups, namely pregnant women and children.” However, criticism has emerged regarding the implementation in the field, especially in remote areas,” said Denny.

Second, the program targets food self-sufficiency by creating 4 million hectares of rice fields within 3-4 years. With a conversation frequency of 7,922, it achieved a positive sentiment of 70.0 percent and a negative sentiment of 30.0 percent.

Denny said that, based on his research, the public is optimistic about the potential of this program to improve food security. However, skepticism remains regarding budget efficiency and ambitious targets.

Third, the program for large budget allocation for teacher welfare and school rehabilitation with a conversation frequency of 17,925. It has a positive sentiment of 71.6 percent and a negative sentiment of 28.4 percent.

“Strong support has emerged from the community, particularly regarding teachers’ welfare.” “The main challenge is ensuring fair budget distribution,” he said.
