JakartaThe government officially launched the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program in 26 provinces in Indonesia. In this initial stage, there are 190 kitchens operating with a target of 3,000 meals per day.
Cooperatives Minister Budi Arie Setiadi stated that the production capacity of the kitchen or Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) will be gradually increased. Initially, 1,500 MBG portions were produced daily, and in the future, it could reach 3,000 portions per day.
Thus, simply put, Dapur MBG’s production can target at least 570,000 people, the majority of whom are school children.
“Well, currently, today there are 190 SPPGs in 26 provinces.” If on average 190 (provide) around 3,000 (portions), about 500,000 to 600,000 (at the initial stage), right,” said Budi Arie at SD Angkasa 05, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, Monday (6/1/2025).
He emphasized that the number will continue to be increased in the future. Considering that President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship program has become a strategic matter that requires cooperation from many parties.
“Because the target will be escalated later, because there has to be an initial step.” “Because frankly, this is a very strategic program, it has become our shared concern,” he said.
“Because I have already mentioned that this MBG must foster mutual cooperation, solidarity, and helping each other shoulder to shoulder among all components of the nation.” Because this can’t be done alone, farmers also can’t do it alone,” he continued.

Previously reported, Minister of Cooperatives Budi Arie Setiadi directly inspected the implementation of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) at SD Angkasa 05, Halim Perdanakusuma Complex, Jakarta. A number of children enthusiastically enjoyed the meals provided.
It is known that President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship program officially started on January 6, 2025, today. 190 points in 26 provinces in Indonesia have started implementing this program simultaneously.
“There are 4 main objectives of the Free Nutritious Meal program.” Namely, preparing superior resources, reducing stunting rates, reducing poverty rates, and driving the economy of the community so that the aspirations of Indonesia’s golden era in 2045 can be achieved as best as possible,” said Budi Arie at SD Angkasa 05, Jakarta, Monday (6/1/2025).

According to observations at the location, food distribution began at 08:30 AM WIB to each class. The MBG menu was seen loaded into stainless steel containers.
The school children looked enthusiastic while enjoying the food that was served. Minister Budi Arie occasionally greeted the children in between their meals.
The menu served includes rice, a piece of chicken with soy sauce, and a portion of stir-fried green beans. Don’t forget, the meal is complemented with a banana.
Free Nutritious Meal Menu Changes in 20 Days
Previously, the Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi visited Angkasa 05 Halim Perdanakusuma Elementary School in Jakarta on Monday morning (6/1/2025). Budi Arie’s visit was to review the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal program, which was launched simultaneously in several regions.
Budi Arie mentioned that the food supply for these elementary school children comes from the Free Nutritious Meal Program Kitchen at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base (Lanud), Jakarta.
“This (food) comes from the Lanud Halim Kitchen,” said Minister Budi on-site.
On the first day, the production capacity of the Free Nutritious Meal Program Kitchen at Lanud Halim reached 1,500 portions. Meanwhile, for Tuesday (07/1) tomorrow, the number of meals produced will reach 3,000 portions.
“Because today we start the production and distribution of MBG packages, which today amount to 1,500 packages, and tomorrow 3,000 packages,” he revealed.
Available Menu
Meanwhile, the available food menu consists of teriyaki chicken, stir-fried green beans, white rice, and bananas. Minister Budi mentioned that the food menu will change every 20 days.
“The menu is teriyaki chicken, green beans, bananas.” “But later, it will change every 20 days,” he said.
He ensured that the budget for the Free Nutritious Food program remains Rp10,000 per serving. The total budget set is Rp71 trillion.
“Still Rp 10,000, okay,” he insisted.
