JakartaThe Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) will hold a celebration for the party’s 52nd anniversary. Based on the invitation received by the editorial team, the celebration event will be held today, Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Party School, Jalan Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.
Based on the event schedule, the activities will begin at 1:30 PM WIB with a cultural showcase featuring Indonesian dances. Officially, the event will be opened at exactly 14:00 WIB in accordance with party protocol.
Continuously, the agenda will be followed by a political speech from the General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, then a ceremonial rice cone cutting and distribution of rice cones to the people.
In addition, there are also activities for providing seeds for the greening movement and rice companion plants for the people. The event will later be concluded around 5:00 PM WIB.
The Chairman of the PDIP DPP, Djarot Saeful Hidayat, stated that similar events will also be held at each DPD, DPC, branches, and sub-branches throughout Indonesia.The event at the Party School will be held in a hybrid format due to space limitations, so not all cadres will be gathered at the Party School.
“So because the venue can accommodate 300 people, both on the second floor of the hall and the first floor,” said Djarot to the media in Jakarta, as quoted on Friday (10/1/2025).
Not Inviting Prabowo
In addition, it is ensured that there are no invitations for other parties, including government representatives or President Prabowo.
“We did not invite a government representative, nor did we invite Mr. Prabowo,” he explained.
Djarot reasoned that President Prabowo will be invited to the next major party event, which is the series of the Party Congress. It is known that PDIP will hold a Congress next April.
“Because the party’s anniversary event is for our internal party, it serves as a medium for us to conduct introspection and self-improvement,” Djarot stated.
