Bringing Evidence of Paula with a Man, Baim Wong’s Side: Not in a Public Place

The divorce hearing of Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven held on Wednesday (22/1) yesterday at the South Jakarta Religious Court.

In this session, Baim Wong presented a witness who knows about the alleged affair involving Paula Verhoeven.

“So earlier in the trial, we submitted the last additional evidence in the form of a video, which became evidence 83 (presented), and we presented 2 witnesses, bringing the total to 12 witnesses.” “Essentially, these two witnesses explained that there was a woman alone in one place with a man who is not her mahram,” said Fahmi Bachmid, Baim Wong’s legal counsel at the South Jakarta Religious Court, Wednesday (22/1).

Fahmi Bachmid has also submitted the allegation of infidelity by Paula Verhoeven to the South Jakarta Religious Court for evaluation. He even mentioned religious teachings that do not permit a woman to be alone with a man who is not her mahram.

“And this is a religious court, where the applicable law is Islamic law, and we as Muslims clearly state its sharia.” So the testimony clearly states that there was a woman sitting with a man who is not her mahram for hours in one place. Not in a public place, you know,” said Fahmi Bachmid.

“I state that there is a woman alone with a man who is not her mahram.” We Muslims have our own Sharia. Having prohibitions. How can someone be with a man who is not their mahram or something like that,” he continued.

However, Fahmi is reluctant to reveal who the man suspected of being Paula Verhoeven’s affair is. Baim Wong’s legal counsel only stated that the meeting between Paula and the man occurred more than once.

Later, if he attends, I’ll introduce him. Clearly, if it’s more than once, you interpret it yourself. So, in Islamic law, it never questions or regulates. Clearly, there is a prohibition against a person being alone with a man who is not a mahram. Or a woman should not be alone with a man who is not her mahram,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the next hearing related to the divorce of Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven will be held again in two weeks with the agenda of the arrival of witnesses from Paula’s side.
