Jakarta The sentence of the defendant in the tin commodity corruption case, Harvey Moeis, was increased by the Jakarta High Court judges in a hearing that took place on Thursday (13/2/2025).
The 6.5-year prison sentence has now been increased to 20 years. In addition, Sandra Dewi’s husband was also fined double the amount. Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs of Indonesia, Mahfud MD, commented on this decision through his X social media account.
Mahfud MD expressed appreciation to the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office for filing an appeal, which resulted in a harsher sentence for Harvey Moeis.

“Bravo, the Prosecutor’s Office has successfully constructed a fantastic appeal for the Timah corruption case.” The High Court can be convinced to increase Harvey Moeis’s sentence from 6.5 years to 20 years and the restitution from Rp 210 billion to Rp 420 billion. The professional prosecutor should not be interfered with,” he tweeted.
