The Constitutional Court Will Read the Final Verdict on the Regional Election Dispute Next Week, All Parties Are Asked to Accept


The Constitutional Court will read out all final decisions on the 2024 regional election disputes next Monday (February 24). As is known, the Constitutional Court has received 40 cases that will continue in the follow-up hearing with the agenda of listening to witness and expert testimonies.
Constitutional Judge Saldi Isra stated that in the lead-up to the final decision on the 2024 Pilkada dispute, he reminded the parties filing the lawsuit that the constitutional judges would decide all cases fairly.
“According to the schedule, the final decision will be read on February 24.” “Please trust and leave the results to us, and we will decide based on the existing facts,” said Saldi during the evidentiary hearing at the Constitutional Court building in Jakarta on Monday (27/2).
On that basis, Saldi urged all parties involved in the series of regional election disputes not to engage in actions that could damage the collective legal image.

“We will decide based on the evidence and facts we find, so (please) do not do anything else that could undermine the authority of our law.” And do not do anything else that could influence the court’s way of thinking,” he emphasized.
Saldi explained that the nine constitutional judges will decide each regional election dispute case based on the application, response, rebuttal, evidence, and facts revealed in the trial wisely.
“We just need to remind everyone that all evidence and materials have been submitted to the Constitutional Court.” Whether it is the application, the respondent’s answer, and the statements from related parties as well as the statements from the Election Supervisory Board with all the accompanying evidence,” explained Saldi.

The Deputy Chief Justice also emphasized to the parties to accept the final decision of the Constitutional Court. Because, in every political contest, there will always be consequences, so it is natural for there to be winners and losers.
“Including us, we have also examined witnesses and experts, please entrust this to the Constitutional Court, whatever the result, that will be the best.” So please, all parties should wait for an official summons from the court registry and no further addition of evidence and inspection related to this case,” he stated.
At the final day of the examination trial, Saldi explained that all the cases that have been examined will be brought to the Constitutional Court in the judges’ deliberation meeting to be held this week.
“We will hold a meeting or deliberation among the judges to decide this case, including other cases.” When is it still awaited (but) this week, because each panel is still working on delving into it and everything,” he asserted.


It is known that the final verdict hearing for the 2024 Pilkada dispute is scheduled to be held on Monday, February 24, 2025. After the ruling on whether the cases would proceed or be dismissed, which was read on Tuesday (February 4) and Wednesday (February 5), only 40 out of 310 cases in the 2024 Pilkada dispute continued to the evidence hearing stage. Meanwhile, 270 other cases were dismissed.
The total of 40 cases still in dispute at the Constitutional Court consists of three gubernatorial election disputes, three mayoral election disputes, and 34 regency election disputes.
