Jakarta – The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli assured that he would meet with the mass of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers who are protesting at his office on Monday (17/2/2025). The ojol drivers held a demonstration demanding the payment of holiday allowances (THR) by their application companies.
Yassierli stated that his ministry has held an audience with ojol drivers and business partners regarding the payment of THR. According to him, both parties expressed their aspirations regarding the payment of THR.
“They conveyed their aspirations and assured that they would remain conducive.” “And later after the meeting, I will meet with them,” said Yassierli at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, Monday (17/2/2025).
He stated that the partners of the online motorcycle taxi entrepreneurs are looking for the best solution regarding the drivers’ demands. Yassierli believes that the partners of online motorcycle taxi entrepreneurs can understand the aspirations of the drivers who are requesting THR payments.
“Specifically, we are confident that entrepreneurs can understand the aspirations of ride-hailing drivers also related to holiday bonuses.” This is a matter of the amount and the formula, this is what we are currently working on,” he said.
Yassierli hopes that partners of the ojol app companies can pay THR to the drivers. He mentioned that the formulation regarding THR for ojol drivers could be finalized soon.
“I hope as soon as possible, because this is a financial issue, there needs to be a simulation that must be prepared, right?” We will wait for a few days for the finalization with the entrepreneurs,” said Yassierli.
