First Ramadan without Marissa Haque, Ikang Fawzi: Everything is different

JAKARTA – Ikang Fawzi and his two daughters, Bella and Chiki Fawzi, have to observe their first fasting without the presence of the late Marissa Haque, who passed away on October 2, 2025.
No wonder, Ikang, who had lived together with Marissa for 38 years, felt a drastic difference, especially during this Ramadan moment, one of which was his late wife’s cooking.
“Icha takes care of everything, so everything is different, from waking up for sahur, preparing sahur menus, what I usually eat, she cooks it,” said Ikang Fawzi as quoted by VOI from YouTube TransTV Official, Thursday, March 6.

As a child, Bella certainly feels the same way where usually from sahur to tarawih they would always be four, but now they only do it in three.
“Usually, sahur and breaking the fast were done as a group of four.” Taraweeh prayers at home used to be done by four people, but now it’s down to three,” Bella said.
Therefore, Bella and Chiki strive to always accompany their father in performing worship during the month of Ramadan.

Although sometimes Ikang doesn’t want his two daughters to worry too much about him and asks them to focus on their own lives.
“Even though we live as a trio, we try to make time for our family and really put in the effort because now we only live as a trio,” he continued.

Ikang stated that he is still trying to let go of Marissa Haque’s departure. If he feels longing, Ikang will immediately pray and continue his wife’s good habits during her lifetime.
“So we have to accept it, we have to face it now.”
“If every time I remember, I pray continuously and continue whatever good things he did, his connections, his work, his empathy towards social issues,” Ikang emphasized.
