Jakarta Anya Geraldine revealed one of the most challenging scenes in her latest film entitled Mendadak Dangdut. Namely when she was asked to sing the song “Terlanjur Basah”, a duet with Keanu Angelo who played the character Wawan.
In the film directed by director Monty Tiwa, Anya Geraldine was plotted to play Nayyara. A famous pop singer who had to go to an area because she was caught in a murder case.
On her journey in the area, Nayya had to join a dangdut orchestra. Even though previously she was described as a person who was against dangdut music.
“The challenging scene seems to be the song that duets with Keanu, the song “Terlanjur Basah”. He has a wide vocal range so I also have to be raised, so that it is the same,” said Anya Geraldine at Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Tuesday (4/22/2025).
According to Anya, there are similarities between the character of Nayyara played and her personal life. In Mendadak Dangdut, Nayyara is told as a child who is not close to her father because of past experiences.
“Maybe the similar ones used to have feelings of not being so close to parents. But by the time I lived, I could understand and forgive what they did, so I understood. In real life I have a younger sibling, but a boy. So there is a feeling that I have to take care of my younger sibling, I have to be with my family,” she explained.
