Prabowo’s envoys are the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo or Jokowi, Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono, Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Pope Francis’ Visit to Indonesia Ignatius Jonan.

“Regarding the special envoys from President Prabowo to attend Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican. Based on information last night, all (envoys) have departed and based on time calculations, they have arrived in Rome,” said Prasetyo, Friday (4/25/2025).

According to him, the envoys who left to attend Pope Francis’ funeral brought a personal letter from Prabowo to the Vatican government. Prasetyo said there was no special message delivered by Prabowo, other than condolences for the death of Pope Francis.

“Indeed, the envoys who departed brought a personal letter from President Prabowo Subianto to the Vatican government,” he said.

“Of course, there is no specific message, other than once again the government and all Indonesian people, not only Catholics, certainly feel a great loss with the death of Pope Francis,” continued the Presidential Spokesperson.

The Indonesian government, he said, hopes that the spirit that Pope Francis has conveyed can be continued. Starting from siding with the weak, the poor, to defending the oppressed.

“Those values are the humanitarian values left by Pope Francis and we must continue them,” said Prasetyo.
